    "abstract": "The VEPP-4 control system was designed almost 20 years ago as CAMAC-based\ndistributed control system. Today the main peculiarity of the upgraded VEPP-4\ncontrol system is the employment of obsolete CAMAC-embedded 24-bit Odrenok\ncomputers in the middle (process) level. The communication software is\ndeveloped to provide an effective interaction between user (operator)\napplications on the high level and executive programs in the middle level. The\ncommunication software is Linux-based and includes the Application Server and\nDevice Servers. The Application Server provides channel and database access for\nuser applications. The Device Servers provide interaction with the hardware.\nThe backend database server is based on PostgreSQL. This paper describes the\nstructure of the VEPP-4 control system database and data/channel access\nprocedures.",
