    "abstract": "The World Year of Physics (2005) is an international celebration to\ncommemorate the one hundredth anniversary of Einstein\u0027s \"Annus Mirabilis\". The\nUnited Nations has officially declared 2005 the International Year of Physics.\nHowever, the impact of Einstein\u0027s ideas was not restricted to physics. Among\nnumerous other disciplines, Einstein also made significant and specific\ncontributions to Earth Sciences. His geosciences-related letters, comments, and\nscientific articles, are dispersed, not easily accesible and are poorly known.\nThe present review attempts to integrate them, as a tribute to Einstein in\ncommemoration of this centenary. These contributions can be classified into\nthree basic areas: geodynamics, geological (planetary) catastrophism and\nfluvial geomorphology.",
